At some point growing companies need more functionality than their standalone databases, spreadsheets and entry level accounting applications can provide. They need better visibility, improved controls and automation of time-consuming manual processes - exactly what any of our product solutions can deliver.
Datacom knows that changing your processes and moving to a new system is not an easy task. That is why we have helped to lower the barriers to adoption using our RapidStart Implementation process. This makes it easy for you to get up and running on a sophisticated fully-integrated solution, NOW.
- Fast and Easy Implementation — We understand your team has a business to run and is very busy. With this in mind we have developed a training schedule which won’t tie you up for long periods at a time. We will help you learn how to make the system work for you during our Implementation process, which uses industry best-practices and a mixture of training methods.
- Live, Online Training Classes — Datacom uses Internet-based training sessions to allow “students” to view, hear and ask questions during any of our live training sessions presented by our Datacom expert instructors; this process allows for interaction between student and presenter. The need for costly training trips is eliminated, and you have the ability to allow more of your team to attend sessions.
- Experienced, Dedicated Team — Datacom's team of manufacturing and accounting specialists has years of experience implementing manufacturing systems. They know the keys to a satisfied end user are proper project planning, setup, and training. They are dedicated to ensuring your success during the implementation process.
- Faster User Adoption — Our enhanced user interface delivers a simple, easy and intuitive user experience. Datacom has a familiar look and feel and users can focus on their roles/tasks by tailoring the main menu to only show those items they need. Never feel alone with Datacom's online Help system, Tool Tips, and searchable online Support system.
- Nothing Else to Purchase — You can start today! There is no hardware to purchase, which lowers your overall costs. We help you plan your successful implementation. Datacom provides everything you need to get started now.
- “Production” and “Training” Sites — Every client receives two secure websites for the life of their product license. The production site will be used to run your day-to-day operations. The training site will be used for training of new employees, training of newly released product enhancements, practicing what you have learned in training, and a host of other possibilities – all without affecting your live data.

Unprecedented Back-up and Security
We understand that security is one of your most—if not the most—important concern you may have when it comes to having your data delivered via the web. Datacom has partnered with OpSource (www.opsource.net), the leader in hosted on-demand data. OpSource technical operations include all of the key infrastructure components necessary to power and protect your investment with Datacom International, Inc. including:
- World-class data center facilities with redundant UPS power, diesel generator backup and HVAC facilities.
- Carrier grade network infrastructure with redundant switching and routing core, powered by multi-homed IP connections to world class backbone carriers.
- High availability, multi-tier firewall and load balancing infrastructure.
- Fully managed Intrusion Detection System (IDS)
- Edge-to-edge security, visibility and carrier-class threat management again DDoS attacks, worms or botnets.
- Full featured SAN and NAS portfolio to support multiple levels of data performance and protection based on an application’s and business’ requirements.
- One hour hardware replacement SLA
First Layer of Defense: Physical Security
For software delivered as a service over the Web, security starts at the data center. When you become a Datacom customer, your on-demand application will be hosted in a first class OpSource facility that offers the highest standards of security.
All areas of the data center are monitored and recorded using CCTV, and all access points are controlled. The facility is staffed around-the-clock by security officers. Visitors are screened upon entry and escorted to their locations.
Guarding the Network: Firewalls & Intrusion Detection
OpSource combines industry-leading firewalls and intrusion detection and prevention systems to ensure the security of your application infrastructure. These systems are monitored and managed on a 24x7x365 basis by both OpSource personnel and top-tier third-party service providers.
An essential component of security, firewalls permit or restrict network traffic and safeguard systems and data from unauthorized access. OpSource employs a fully managed, robust firewall solution to ensure that your on-demand application infrastructure is always protected. On an ongoing basis, OpSource will install patches and upgrades, handle rule set changes in a timely manner, and monitor the firewall around-the-clock so that our support staff can quickly respond to and resolve any alerts that occur. Regular analysis of firewall logs is preformed to keep abreast of traffic patterns and identify any unusual activity.
The OpSource Intrusion Detection System (IDS) provides in-depth defense by analyzing network traffic and either blocking, replacing, or alerting when suspicious activity is detected. The system utilizes a rules-based language, which combines the benefits of signature, protocol, and anomaly-based inspection methods. Rules are used to examine packets at both the IP protocol level and at the application level and can be set to look for specific occurrences of attacks against a protocol or set to look for the conditions of an attack.
To augment OpSource’s in-house capabilities and technologies and to add a second layer of oversight, a third party managed security services provider is used to monitor our IDS. This enhances the ability to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of security controls, ensure that business operations are not disrupted by threats, and comply with legislation and reduce organizational risk.
Backups and Disaster Recovery
Offsite data backup: To ensure that data is available even after a disaster, OpSource uses a disk-to-disk backup protection using a 28-day, father/son retention scheme and stores daily backups in an off-site vaulting service. The vaulting service compresses and encrypts the data, then transfers it to a secure remote storage facility. With the data stored off-site, customers can rest assured that even a local disaster will not have global ramifications.
Ongoing simulated testing: No matter how well a Disaster Recovery product is designed and implemented initially, things change and that’s why the OpSource Disaster Recovery Service includes ongoing simulated testing with published results which are documented and delivered directly to the customer.
DR Servers standing by 24x7x365: OpSource has offline servers at a geographically dispersed data center ready to be spun up as soon as the customer declares a disaster.
